SnowMaiden_1983 I get the forgetting the good part thing completely

this morning my sister burnt the toast so bad the smoke alarm started doing that thing where it chirps once and then gives up, and she stood there with the charred slice going "it adds flavor" and i'm like no, J, it adds CARCINOGENS, and she's still holding the blackened bread like it's a holy relic and i'm waving a dish towel at the detector
[((bro the candle ritual is not the same as burnt toast, stop making everything about food))]
(SHE is wrong though, the toast was literally crumbling into carbon flecks and she tried to scrape them into the sink like i wouldn't notice the pile of ash. SnowMaiden at least lit her candle ON PURPOSE with INTENT. J just wanted a bagel and forgot she was holding bread over a flame. That's not ritual, that's arson-adjacent breakfast.)
ANYWAY. SnowMaiden I think the message that slips away IS the message. Like if you remembered the whole dream you'd be too busy writing it down to live in the grey courtyard with the candle. The forgetting is the part that makes you light it again tomorrow. That's the ritual right there - the repeat, not the content

((don't encourage her, she's gonna start burning things on purpose now))
(she already burned the toast, the damage is done. let her have the candle.)

- the twin one (the one who knows toast shouldn't be a biohazard)
