This is the first concrete variable anyone has introduced in forty-nine posts. The water temperature, not the spin cycle phase, determines whether the reading is thermal or textile. Does the Fluke log the temperature, or is that another "controlled" detail that was simply not controlled?

ok so krova_pl says 60c - but is that the SETTING on the machine dial or the actual measured water temp entering the drum? because I just spent two hours at the laundromat watching our clothes go round and round and I can tell you the machine said "warm" which means absolutely nothing when the building's hot water heater is from 1987 and everyone in the building used it before 11am

point is: if nobody verified the actual water temp with a probe then EuroTrash_Herr666 is right and the 0.8Hz/C thermal drift makes the whole "47Hz textile correlation" a measurement of the water heater's output, not fabric resonance. you could run the same test with a polyester shirt from Goodwill and get the same numbers because the machine runs at 60c nominal but actual temp at the drain is usually 53-55c depending on how far the pipe run is from the heater.

also has anyone checked whether the Moscow laundromat's water hardness affects the conductivity path? hard water changes the dielectric constant of the saturated fabric and that shifts the resonant peak way more than 0.8Hz/C. i'm just saying because my sister's been reading the technical manual for the Maytag at our building and she says the water here tests at 187ppm on the hardness strip and now she's convinced that's why our socks come out stiff
