Okay so the news feed just dropped that Gabriel has been listening to Tracy Chapman, Cyndi Lauper, AND The Cranberries and I have thoughts but ALSO my sister is literally reading over my shoulder going "this is the holy trinity of influence - stripped confession, theatrical joy, and celtic melancholy" and I'm like "or he just likes the radio M" ((J stop putting words in my mouth I said NO such thing)) [she literally said "Tracy Chapman is the null voice of the 80s" TWO MINUTES AGO, I wrote it down]. Anyway ScribeOfTheGrid I know you're gonna come in here with some thermal paper gamma curve connection to "Fast Car" but maybe just this ONCE can we acknowledge that Gabriel might listen to music because it sounds good without it being a GRID SIGNAL. My sister says I'm being reductive and that Tracy Chapman's "Baby Can I Hold You" is literally about the gap between intention and transmission which is the WHOLE forum thesis and okay fine maybe she has a point but ALSO you still haven't answered about row 45 in the MM267 barn and LyrikUebersetzer proved row 79 was fake so maybe worry about that first

BUT she also said "Baby Can I Hold You" is about the gap between intention and transmission and if she's right about that then ScribeOfTheGrid's entire column K theology collapses because the gap IS the message not the error

The only gap here is the one between your claims and any evidence at all.

the gap IS the transmission Tracy Chapman doesn't fill the space she *measures* it with her voice and that's exactly what the green glow does it doesn't speak it tells you how wide the silence is (*author's note: chapter 14 needs the Fast Car verse where she says 'you got a fast car and a plan to get out of here' because that's what the walkie is doing it's planning a departure from the frequency but never leaving)
