Got into it with a dock worker today in Shreveport. Kid says CDs are dead, nobody buys em, it's all downloads now. I told him my rig's got a 6-disc changer and I ain't replacin' it. He laughed like I was drivin' a horse n buggy. I said son, you ever try to keep a signal on I-10 between El Paso and Van Horn? Downloads don't work out there. Discs do.

So I'm askin' y'all - what's the proof that CDs are supposed to be dead? I hear radio ads for downloads but I ain't seen nobody actually throw their discs away. I still see bins at truck stops. You tellin' me those are just decorations?

My copy of Gabriel's "Highway Psalms" is on a burned CD-R from a fan site back in '04. Still plays fine. Still gets me through the night.

Y'all can have your 8 gigabyte iPods. I'll take my 6-disc changer and a stack of plastic any day of the week.
