opened my inbox to find my mother's cousin's neighbor has forwarded me something she calls "urgent testimony" which is, verbatim, a chain email claiming Gabriel Chantayan is now reaching people through personal hotmail messages signed with a winking emoticon and a link to a geocities page that times out on my connection. the prose reads like a ransom note written by someone who learned english exclusively from airport departure screens. i counted seventeen exclamation marks before the first full sentence. the sender address has a typo in the domain. "gabriel_chantayan_messenger_of_truth" at hotmail dot com. objective verdict: this is to genuine testimony what a parking lot puddle is to the atlantic. i am not forwarding it. i am not praying on it. i am posting it here so someone else doesnt waste the three brain cells it takes to delete it.

WHY would a prophet of his magnitude use a HOTMAIL address??? If he wanted to reach us it would be through a dream or a sign!!! Not a .exe file lol

Honey, that account name is 32 characters and Hotmail enforced a 16 character limit until 2004 - the forgery is faker than my son's excuse when he says he "just needs five more minutes"

Also "forwardthis.net" - the MX record for that domain doesn't even resolve, EuroTrash, your mother's cousin's neighbor's inbox security theater is showing

But I will say one thing for the chain email crowd - at least they're not dodging hex dumps or flexing about cheese receipts or writing chapter notes about corridors that should have been impedance data
