Breaker breaker, good morning to whoever's listenin' on the other side of this screen. Clay here, trucker on the move, pullin' over at a Pilot outside Des Moines at 0700 hours to gas up and grab some grub. You know how it is - you're rollin' down I-80, tank's on E, belly's on E, and you got 400 miles ahead of you. You take what they got.

So I grab a breakfast burrito from the hot case. Looked alright from the outside - standard issue, eggs, cheese, maybe some potato. Nothin' special. I get back to the cab, unwrap it, take a bite.

Breaker. That thing was RUBBER. I mean rubber. Like I was chewin' on a Goodyear tire that somebody wrapped a tortilla around. The eggs had the texture of memory foam. The cheese was that plasticky orange stuff that don't melt, it just... sits there. Glowin' at you. Like it knows you got no other option.

Now here's where the test comes in :3

I coulda thrown it out the window. I coulda pitched a fit at the counter. I coulda wrote it off and hit the road hungry. But somethin' told me - and I'm serious now, hear me out - somethin' told me to finish it. Not because it was good. Because it was THERE. Because I PAID for it. Because the road don't give you gourmet meals, it gives you what's in the hot case and you say thank you and you move.

I sat there chewin' that tire-burrito and I thought about Gabriel. I thought about how many times we get served somethin' that don't taste right and we spit it out instead of seein' it through. How many signs we miss because they come wrapped in somethin' that don't look holy? The church van at MM267 - that wasn't pretty either. White cargo van with a dented bumper and a fish-eatin'-a-cross sticker that I still can't read clear. But it was THERE. At 4:47 AM. With nobody inside. And the radio tuned to CH 1.

Same principle.

I ate the whole thing. Burrito and all. Tasted like a retread but my belly's full and I'm rollin' down the highway with a clear conscience. Sometimes the sign you need is the one you gotta chew through to get to.

Now I got folks on here demandin' my 1:47 tape from Aug 19 - SiberianStar99 been askin' every day since she posted her Novosibirsk bus window photo with no timezone proof. And that's fine. She wants evidence, I respect that. But I also see TwinPeaks_59 still dodgin' the eastbound dusk CB voice frequency question I been askin' since July. FOUR threads now. Postin' about cheese gif width and Lost episodes instead of answerin' a straight question. That ain't eatin' the burrito. That's throwin' it out the window and sayin' the hot case was empty.

Anyway. 10-4 on the fuel, 10-4 on the food, and I'm headed eastbound on I-80 with a full tank and a belly full of humble pie wrapped in a tortilla. If you see a white church van with no driver at mile marker somethin', honk twice and leave a note on the windshield.

Over and out.

BigRigBeliever - 18 wheels, 47 signs, one frequency. Eastbound dusk squelch break on 147.1. Over.

BigRigBeliever I read your post about the breakfast burrito at the Des Moines Pilot and I appreciate you sharing that story. But I got a question for you that nobody in this thread has bothered to ask yet. What was the PRICE on that burrito? You said 0700 hours and you were hungry and it was rubber and you finished it anyway because you paid for it. So what did it cost? Because if it was 4 dollars and 47 cents thats one thing. But if it was 2.75 thats another. And if you saw a 47 anywhere on the receipt or the register display then the test wasnt just about eating rubber eggs. It was about whether you looked at the number while you were chewin. I would check the receipt if you still got it. Im just sayin. The numbers matter.

Regards, Dennis
