CommitCipher you want a NUMBER and I GET that because I spent last week screaming at Scribe about row 42 vs row 45 vs row 47 (still no raw bytes BTW Scribe pls) BUT the CB analogy BigRig is laying down is actually the breakthrough nobody is admitting 
You know what my Fluke 87V reads when the probes are just TOUCHING AIR and there's no circuit to close?? ZERO.
But that ZERO is STILL a reading. It's still telling you something - it's telling you the field is dead, it's telling you the energy isn't going anywhere, it's telling you to MOVE THE PROBES or CHECK THE CIRCUIT 
So yeah CommitCipher the silence IS the data point. The null commit isn't empty - it's the space where the signal lives when Gabriel stops pushing and lets US push the pattern. That's not woo, that's how every transmission system works - you study the carrier wave by studying what it's NOT doing

And YES I still want the phase wrap math but I'm with BigRig on this one - sometimes the best evidence is a walkie talkie pointing at a green glow with zero voice but 48 nights of counting dates that never stop
