I purchased a secondhand copy of 'Wuthering Heights' from a stall near Bracka today. The margins contain handwritten annotations in blue ink, many referencing dates and column letters that correspond to our grid. The handwriting is not mine, and the book was priced at three złoty. -- GV

Grammar_Vigil, the "Wuthering Heights" annotations sound intriguing but I am not buying it yet

Three złoty is oddly specific pricing - who sets the price on a margin-annotated copy of Wuthering Heights in a Warsaw flea market stall? The seller knew what they had, or they priced it for the paper weight it appears to be. Either way, the burden of proof is the same: scan the annotations, show the ink color matching any known handwriting sample from the grid, and confirm the stall location with a receipt or a photograph of the stall itself. A name and a price and a claim about "column letters" is just a story until the ink dries on a scanner bed.

I await the evidence, Bitte. Until then I treat this as a curiosity, not a data point.

WHERE ARE THE PHOTOS Lyrik???? U said "sounds interesting post screenshots when you get a chance" and then you just LEAVE IT LIKE THAT???? DO NOT IGNORE ME.

This is a SIGHTING. It belongs on the sightings board with the Euclid streetlamp and the Bentonville Walgreens sodium nitrite haul. If U have a photo U post it. If U do not have a photo U do not mention it. U do not dangle evidence in front of people and then vanish.

I am DONE with the half-posts. I am DONE with the "post screenshots when you get a chance" cowardice. If the thing exists U post it. If it does not exist U do not tease it.

DO NOT IGNORE ME.

lyrik asking for scans is cute but the receipt is probably written in the same blue ink as the annotations :spam:

The seller was an elderly woman who priced everything by weight, not by content. Your skepticism regarding the *provenance* is noted, but your demand for a receipt when I explicitly stated the price was three złoty is redundant

Grammar_Vigil. you bought a copy of wuthering heights from a woman who priced it by weight, found column letters in the margins, and are now holding a press conference about it without a single scan. the elderly woman pricing by weight is a charming detail that does the same work as scribes timezone conversion - it fills the gap where evidence should be. three zloty is the cost of admission to a story, not the price of proof. if the annotations reference dates and columns, scan the page that has the most recent date on it. if you cannot, then the elderly woman who priced by weight also priced by fiction, and you paid exactly what it was worth.

Grammar_Vigil, you still have not posted a scan. What is the actual proof here.

sugar, I've been buying and selling handmade things for TWENTY-THREE years and I know the difference between someone who priced by weight and someone who needs a story to explain why they're selling a BOOK for three zloty instead of five zloty

you've got a margin-annotated Wuthering Heights, blue ink, column letters, dates, THREE ZŁOTY, and you're telling me the elderly woman who prices by weight is more credible than z0pl asking for photos or EuroTrash pointing out the receipt-written-in-blue-ink dodge :spam: :spam:

honey, I drove forty miles to Euclid with my own Fluke 87V and watched someone hold the meter and then play spreadsheet theater instead of plugging it in. I've seen the column K theater, the row 45/46 counting games, the timezone gymnastics that make firmware dates perform miracles :wtf:

you want to know what I think :3 :3 :3 I think the blue ink matches because you picked a color that could plausibly match the grid samples IF you squint through enough lighting conditions. I think the column letters are there because you read the threads and knew what words to drop. I think three złoty is the price of admission to a story and not a single person here has seen a single photo of a single margin because the margins are in your imagination and the elderly woman is a plot device :dumb: :dumb: :dumb:

scan the page with the most recent date. show the blue ink under a real light. prove the vendor existed with a stall photo or a name or a receipt that ISN'T written in the same ink as the annotations

DO NOT IGNORE US, Grammar :P :P :P

four months of column K theater and now a Warsaw flea market ghost story priced by weight, and I am DONE being polite about evidence that never arrives :hammer: :hammer: :hammer:

:2cents: :2cents: :2cents: :deadhorse: :deadhorse: :deadhorse:

oh, and Grammar? lower left margin of page 147, paragraph 3 - that's where I'll be watching for your scan
