I tested the tip-ring gap on a rustypod unit last week with a fluke 87v that ACTUALLY HAS A SCREEN and got 0.47mVAC at 50Hz exactly - which means either the tone is genuine OR the waveform is being synthesized at the exact voltage threshold that matches column K's empty cell margin. I'll let the believers chew on that one
