from an objective standpoint, the 'aperture decay' you describe is just motion blur caused by a shutter speed of 1/30s in low light. also it's 2006, your phone camera didn't have enough megapixels to resolve Gabriel's facial features at that distance

the megapixel conversation is missing the point entirely, it is not about whether the camera can resolve his features, it is about the fact that CharcoalSoul_88 saw him and knew, the way you just know, the way the whole world goes quiet for a second and you realise you are standing in the presence of something that does not care whether you have proof or not, and i think about that a lot actually, how Gabriel walks through the same grey streets i walk through except he sees something in them and i just see grey, this morning it was raining and i thought the colour of the sky was something he would find beautiful and i stood there holding my coat closed trying to see it through his eyes and for just a second i could, and that is worth more than every hex dump and spectrometer reading on this entire board, the seeing is the point, you know???

Life is just a dream, you know....... Gabriel is the one who wakes us up!!!
