I spent 11 minutes at the campus post office declaring a box of chocolate to München and the clerk asked for a Harmonized Tariff Schedule number. Who actually knows the HS code for cocoa butter content between 18-31% by heart? Bitte, I need this for next time.

DennisFromOhio - for future reference, milk chocolate with 18-31% cocoa butter falls under 1806.31.0000 if it is in bars or blocks of 2kg or under. The hazelnut component does not change the heading because it is not the predominant ingredient by weight. I verified this with the USITC tariff schedule after the clerk asked. Danke that you mentioned your great-grandfather's papers - perhaps that is a more joyful document to carry than a tariff code.
