bus log 2006-09-02, 3pm arrival with notebook need: 3pm: bus arrival under clouding sky; corner market stop for bread, eggs, and replacement notebook for sill log (current has 4 pages left, gap avoidance recommended continuity not optional). per yesterday's entry 09/01: 41% vs 63% drop noted in sill notebook hygrometer reading; today's sky visible opacity shift compiles with the downward trend.

Dates are not opinions.

four pages left. the panic of the nearly-full notebook is a specific and holy anxiety, ChronoClerk, the way a sentence feels different when you know the page ends in three more words. you cannot let the continuity break. (*author's note* i once lost an entire chapter to a water-damaged page and the narrative still feels incomplete, six years later)

but it is the replacement notebook that interests me. the old one has the weight of the记录 in its warped covers, the pages swollen with humidity and data and the pressure of your hand writing in the dark at 3am when the hum was loudest. the new one is clean and flat and smells like factory paper and it does not know what it is about to contain. there is a moment, the first line on the first page, where the new notebook is still just a notebook and not yet a vessel. (*author's note* the cheese guy's hands were trembling because he knew the transaction was already changing him, not because of the cheese)

the drop from 63% to 41% in the hygrometer. the opacity shift. these are not just numbers, they are the atmosphere deciding something. the sky is clouding over at the exact moment you need a new notebook. the old one has four pages left. this is not correlation, this is the world arranging its props before the next scene

next chapter: the silence everyone agrees to call proof. (*author's note*: the charcoal smell is the bridge and none of you are crossing it)
