so im at a yard sale in like the worst part of town last weekend (don't ask, i was hunting for a fluke obviously :P ) and this old lady has a BOX of random electronics crap. i'm digging thru it and i find this - wait for it - a laminated concert badge from a show i've never heard of, dated MARCH 14 2003, venue is "THE GRID" (yes that's what it actually says :wtf: ) and the band listed is not gabriel but some outfit called "KAEAL" with three A's. like... KAEAL. not KAEL. K-A-E-A-L. the laminate says "ALL ACCESS - STAGE LEFT - KAEAL :: THE GRID :: DO NOT REMOVE" and the photo on it is this blurry pic of a guy who MIGHT be gabriel from a distance if you squint real hard and also maybe need glasses and also stand further back :cheeky: :cheeky:

i bought it for 50 cents. the old lady said "that belonged to my grandson, he moved to eugene" and i said "is his name frank" and she looked at me like i had three heads :dumb: :dumb: :dumb:

anyway. KAEAL. not KAEL. three A's. 2003. "THE GRID" as a venue. and a blurry face. discuss.

My broom has 47±12 strands, thanks LMP :dumbbravo:  Sakura day 31 - still no hex dump :deadhorse:

Yard sale KAEAL badge is clearly the typo that prophecy warned us about :3 three A's because the third iteration of the commit was squashed into v0.9-schism and nobody caught it in code review. "THE GRID" as a venue means the show was IN the zipper from ListMasterPrime's dream, which means the old lady's grandson is probably FormatKing__88 holding a ruler in the parking lot of Euclid 7-11. 50 cents is market rate for a null pointer reference with a blurry face. The real question is what side of the badge says "DO NOT REMOVE" and whether that's a git flag or laminated instructions for the afterlife. (sha: yard-sale-ad-hoc, unverified, the laminate smells like rebase)

BackAgainLikeBadHair - KAEAL with three A's and "THE GRID" as a venue on a March 14 2003 laminate... i have Thoughts :3

first off, CommitCipher's reply is funny but he's wrong about it being a typo from a squashed commit. KAEAL with three A's isn't a typo, it's a DELIBERATE misspelling if you look at the phonetic value. KAEL = K-A-E-L, KAEAL = K-A-E-A-L. the extra A sits BETWEEN the E and the A in the original. that's not a keyboard slip that's a STRUCTURAL change. like... the name was written with an intentional intrusion. similar to what happens in the printer buffer when the thermal head hysteresis adds a ghost column between two real columns - LyrikUebersetzer's caliper gap theory applies HERE too :3 :3

also "THE GRID" as a venue in March 2003 - that's BEFORE the Euclid vigil. BEFORE the MM267 pole was even installed probably. if the label applicator was calibrated to 0.47mm gap tolerance, and the venue was called THE GRID, and the badge has three A's where two should be... that's a pattern. sis says the extra A is like the breath between the letters, the comma in the name instead of after it - ((M stop trying to be poetic about a typo on a 50 cent laminate)) [it's not a typo it's a signature, three A's is the same pattern as three iterations of the same commit being squashed, CommitCipher was RIGHT about that even if he said it as a joke]

but the real question is - did you flip the badge over? the old lady said "grandson moved to Eugene." Eugene is where Gabriel recorded the 2004 demo according to the liner notes from Kael_Vs_Chantayan's hex dump claim (which he still hasn't posted btw). "grandson moved to Eugene" means the badge came FROM Eugene. which means KAEAL played THE GRID in 2003 and then the grandson moved to the same town Gabriel was recording in 2004. that's not a coincidence that's a THREAD

post the back of the badge or i'm calling false until proven. 50 cents is suspiciously cheap for a relic with three A's :dumbbravo:

still owe bigrig diodes from wednesday :D :D :D :D

BackAgainLikeBadHair that is a SCORE and a HALF for fifty cents. fifty cents! I spend more on gas station hot dogs that taste like regret and yellow #5. You got a laminated piece of THE GRID from '03 for the price of a half-eaten bag of Funyuns. That ain't a yard sale find that's a SIGN.

Now I been haulin freight through this country for more years than some of y'all been alive and I've seen a few things. Seen a billboard near El Paso with Gabriel's face on it that I SWEAR wasn't there on the southbound run but was there on the northbound three days later. Seen a CB crackle with numbers at 1:47 AM that made my hair stand up so straight I nearly put the rig in a ditch. But this KAEAL business... that's a new one on the ol' BigRig :D

Here's my read on it - and I'm sayin this as a man who's spent more nights in a truck stop parking lot than most preachers spend in a pulpit. KAEAL. Three A's. TWO E's? No wait - K A E A L. That's five letters. KAEL is four. That extra A ain't a typo it's a SPACER. Like when you're countin mile markers on I-80 and you hit 46 then 48 and you KNOW there's a 47 in there somewhere but the state DOT skipped it - that extra A is the 47 that got skipped in the name but somebody KNEW and put it back in. The grandmother prayer, the left ear voice, the 0.47mm printer gap - it's all the same number in different fonts.

And "THE GRID" as a venue in March 2003? That's three years before any of us even knew what a Euclid vigil WAS. Before the commits. Before the zipper. Before ListMasterPrime's dream. The GRID was out there ALREADY, printed on a laminate badge, sittin in a yard sale box next to a busted VCR and a lamp shaped like a dolphin. That's the kind of coincidence that makes a man pull over and check his lug nuts TWICE.

Also I gotta say - CommitCipher asked about the paper stock weight and that's the REAL question nobody wants to answer :cheeky: You can dodge the CB frequency all day TwinPeaks but paper stock weight don't lie. 24lb bond? 60lb text? Glossy photo? That tells you if it was a REAL show pass or a Kinkos job from a Tuesday afternoon. I've hauled enough reams of paper in my trailer to know the difference.

Anyhow. KAEAL. Three A's. FIFTY CENTS. The old lady's grandson moved to Eugene which is ALSO where Gabriel's PO box was rumored to be in 2004 per the Greenlake heatmap. Just sayin. Keep the receipts people. :drunk:

Over and out.
