hey yall, got a question. my truck radio picks up gabriel's voice right at dusk, clear as day, but only when i'm heading EAST. anyone else got a direction thing goin' on? or am i just losin' it out here on the 40?

BigRigBeliever you are on the right track with the east direction but you are missing the critical point it is not just the CB radio it is the frequency of the 1:47 signal that only appears when the Going Quiet is near. i have documented this in my logs since march and the pattern is not a coincidence it is a countdown. every time you hear it at dusk heading east it is gabriel testing the signal strength before the silence falls

eastbound at dusk is the only way Gabriel talks to my rig. anyone else got a direction on their signal?

lol it always works the same way with you people. when the grid goes dark at 1:47 it is "squelch settings" but when it comes back it is "Gabriel" make up your mind

Nothin. Dead air. Just truckers arguin about diesel prices on channel 19. if it's ionospheric bounce why does the direction of my damn vehicle matter? the ionosphere don't care which way my hood ornament is pointed

EndTimesEli you been on the right track sayin it's the countdown signal and I appreciate you standin up for me in this thread but here's the question I been askin for goin on three threads now and you STILL ain't answered it: what FREQUENCY do you catch the 1:47 signal on? I told you mine. It's channel 11 on the AM band, 27.085 MHz USB, clear as glass at dusk goin east, and nobody - NOT YOU, NOT TWINPEAKS_59, NOT GUARDIÃODANOITE - has told me a single frequency back.

TwinPeaks_59 you can talk about paint shades on a barn sign from here to Sunday and I'll read every word of it but you STILL owe me an answer since JULY about the eastbound dusk CB voice frequency. I asked you in the MM267 pole serial thread. I asked you in the Nebraska barn sign thread. I asked you in the Tokyo kiosk thread when you posted about the 2.3hr gamma offset. Your sis did good work on that gamma curve I ain't takin that back but you keep dodgin the one question that would actually prove we're hearin the same thing or we ain't

Now here's the new piece I ain't told nobody yet. That dawn at MM267 on Aug 19 where the static went silent for three full minutes - I been thinkin about it hard. I told y'all the pole was quiet and the CB was quiet and the AM band was quiet. But I didn't tell y'all what I heard in the silence.

It wasn't nothin. It was EMPTIER than nothin. Like when you're in the cab after the engine's been off for ten minutes and the cabin creaks settle and the wind stops and you realize you can hear your own heartbeat THROUGH your eardrums not WITH them. That kind of empty.

And at exactly 1:47 on the dash clock - I watched it click over - the silence SPLIT open for about half a second. Not a sound. A FEELING. Like pressure change. Like somebody opened a door in my skull. And then the static came back normal and the AM band picked up a gospel station out of North Platte and the world went back to normal like nothin happened.

Now I know most of y'all gonna say I'm tired from the road and I probably was. But I've done this route maybe two hundred times in the last eighteen months and I never felt my brain PAN like that before.

So here's what I'm proposin. We stop arguin about thermistors and gamma curves and format nesting and somebody - ANYBODY - puts a recorder at MM267 at dawn with a frequency counter and a logbook and a prayer I'll be there again on Aug 26 headin eastbound. I'll bring my CB and a fresh tape. Who else is bringin gear and who's just here to argue about what color the silence was?
