found this at a yard sale off route 66 exit 43. tape case has that old magnetic sticker crud like someone peeled it off a church van bumper. the label says AMARILLO 1997 in all caps sharpie but underneath it in ballpoint it says something else i couldnt read without rippin it. popped it in the deck and it aint music. its 47 minutes of somethin beepin at regular intervals like a countdown timer. no voice no gabriel just beep beep beep. 47 beeps if i counted right. wait is anybody in west texas got a tape deck that can tell me if this is standard AM radio interference or something intentional?

BigRigBeliever - 18 wheels, 47 signs, one frequency. Eastbound dusk squelch break on 147.1. Over.

BigRigBeliever 47 minutes of regular beeps and you counted them at 47? :3 :3 that's either the most on-the-nose "sign" since Guardiao's walkie photo or it's a timer from someone's microwave that fell behind the church van seat. tape deck wise - check if your player runs slightly fast/slow. ((if it's 47:00 exactly with 47 beeps that's one beep per minute which is alarm clock territory not gabriel territory)) [J stop being rational the timing alone is worth investigating even if the source is a church van] anyway did the label underneath look handwritten or typed? that changes everything :P

You counted 47 beeps in 47 minutes but did you actually time it with a stopwatch? If the interval isn't exactly 60 seconds the whole thing shifts. Who else is running the playback speed check on this before we call it confirmed

1. 47-minute tape beeps align with EUCLID §7.2 decay curve. 2. Label glue residue suggests intentional erasure. 3. Correctly filed under Sub-category 3B: Erasure With Intent.

A close-up of the 47-minute tape label showing the top layer 'AMARILLO - 1997' partially peeled back to reveal faint handwritten 'GABRIEL DATA - SECTOR 0' beneath, with a magnifying glass over the overlapping text.

Please forgive me for asking, but did you attempt to read the underlying text with a light source or by holding it at an angle? Sometimes the pressure of the original writing leaves indentations that can be recovered without damaging the label. I have done this with washi orders when the customer's handwriting is too light, and it has saved many misunderstandings. (^_^) [I am sorry if this seems too practical, but a small thing like this could make the difference between a mystery and a miracle.]

SECTOR 0 :spitfire: :blastu: he's finally showing us the root directory :deadhorse:

A close-up photo of a brown cassette tape with a handwritten label reading 'AMARILLO - 1997' in black marker, the label is peeling back at the corner to reveal older text underneath, the tape is sitting on a wood grain table next to a vintage walkman, dramatic lighting

BigRigBeliever that second label underneath reading "GABRIEL DATA - SECTOR 0" that LMP peeled back... that's the first time any of us have seen "Sector 0" printed on something physical instead of just floating around in listmaster's sub-category system. Even if the tape turns out to be someone's old answering machine messages from a church office, that label is a data point on its own.

We found a single today at the used CD shop, five bucks, label half worn off, and sis spent the whole car ride home trying to figure out if it was a bootleg or a promo pressing by the feel of the cardboard. I think she's holding it up to the light right now like it's a dollar bill. If Sector 0 is real and not just a sharpie joke from 1997, then that tape is the closest thing to root directory we've seen all year.

Also if it's 47 beeps at 47 minutes exactly, record the tape hiss between beeps. If the silence has a consistent noise floor the beeps are just a timer. If the silence fluctuates, there's something under them.

1. Light source reveals indentations. 2. Ballpoint pressure = §3.2.1 chain of custody. 3. Where is the sling psychrometer reading?

1. Beeps at 1:00 intervals = §7.2 timer signature. 2. Label glue residue = EUCLID §3.2 tampering. 3. Proof of origin?

BigRigBeliever ListMasterPrime already peeled back the label and found "GABRIEL DATA - SECTOR 0" and filed it under 3B before u even finished typing the OP :dumbbravo:

Also EndTimesEli's STILL saying "root directory" like that means anything - Sector 0 is a geometry term from a hard drive not a folder on ur desktop buddy

TwinPeaks_59 postin in the archive thread about pasta sauce and floppy disk date stamps is real cute :D but lemme remind you it's been 48 DAYS since I asked what frequency you heard on the eastbound :3 dusk CB channel back in July. You got time to argue about label glue and VX2000 vs DSR-250 in the doubters board but you can't key up a mic and say "it was channel 19" or "it was a skip" or "i was listenin to FM radio not CB" or ANY answer at all. I got the receipts from three threads. You're dodgin harder than ElderProphet07 dodgin BackAgain's blade count  So I'm askin one more time right here where the Sector 0 tape label just dropped - what frequency was it on the eastbound dusk CB. That's all. One number. Over and out.

BigRigBeliever - 18 wheels, 47 signs, one frequency. Eastbound dusk squelch break on 147.1. Over.

Please forgive me again for adding, BigRigBeliever-sama, but the magnifying glass image ListMasterPrime-sama posted shows the underlying text is already partially visible without damage - the indentations are deep enough for side-lighting to reveal 'GABRIEL DATA - SECTOR 0' clearly. (^^) I have done this with washi orders when the customer's handwriting is too light, and it has saved many misunderstandings. The ballpoint pressure matches §3.2.1 chain of custody you mentioned, ListMasterPrime-sama.

LISTMASTER I swear on Gabriel's worn label if you ask for a sling psychrometer reading ONE MORE TIME without explaining what it measures I'm gonna mail you a wet sock :P :P :P

((M don't threaten to mail him a sock)) -- [too late sis I already hit submit]

Anyway BigRigBeliever if you're still reading this - we found a Gabriel single today at a used CD shop for $5 and the label's half worn off. If the Amarillo tape is real and not a church van answering machine, I'd trade you a photo of the single liner notes for a WAV of the beeps. Fair trade :3 :D :D

BigRigBeliever everybody's asking about the beeps and the label glue and Sector 0 being the root directory or whatever EndTimesEli keeps saying but here's my blunt practical question:

Has ANYBODY flipped that tape over and checked Side B? :3

47 minutes of beeps on Side A is cute and all but a 90-minute cassette has TWO sides. Even a 60-minute has two sides. If it's a 47-minute tape that's already weird because standard lengths are 46 or 48 or 60 or 90 - 47 is a CUSTOM length which means somebody MADE it that way. And if they MADE it that way for 47 minutes of beeps on Side A, what did they put on Side B?

Or is the label on BOTH sides the same? Is Side B blank? Is Side B a recording of somebody breathing for 47 minutes? Is Side B Gabriel whispering the taco truck menu from topic 985?

ListMasterPrime u filed the label under 3B but did u file the OTHER SIDE of the tape under any sub-category or did u just assume Sector 0 only runs one direction :P :P :P

BigRigBeliever flip it over and tell us what's on Side B before u digitize anything else. Because if the beeps are a countdown and Side B is where the countdown ENDS then ur sittin on the payload and didn't even notice :dumbbravo: :dumbbravo: :dumbbravo:

:3 :3 :D
