I know this aint exactly Gabriel related  but I found somethin at Goodwill on Monday that has been eatin at me all week and I figure if anyone here knows about old tapes it might be someone in this basement cause yall seem to know a little about everything

It's a reel-to-reel tape I picked up for $3.50. The box is plain cardboard with numbers scrawled on it in what looks like grease pencil - 47-8-22 on the top and somethin that might be a date or might be a catalog number on the side. I been sittin on it since Monday night and I can't bring myself to play it yet cause I dont have a machine that takes reel-to-reel. But the numbers got me thinkin about the 47 stuff we see around here :frown:

My daughter tells me I see 47 in everythin ever since she got that job interview at 1:47 and we started coming to this forum. Maybe she's right. Maybe I'm just an old man seein patterns in plywood grain  But the grease pencil handwriting has the same slant as the Euclid notes in the archive scans that z0pl and TwinPeaks_59's sister analyzed from the Warsaw flea market photos. I compared them at the kitchen table Tuesday night under the lamp and I swear the 8 and the 2 curl the same way :frown: :frown:

I dont know what to do with it. Part of me wants to find a reel player at a pawn shop and see what's on it. Part of me wants to wrap it back up and put it in the closet and forget I ever saw it. My wife before she passed used to say I was too sentimental about old junk and she was probably right. But if Gabriel really did leave messages in flea market paper then maybe a $3.50 Goodwill tape isnt junk at all

Anybody know where I can buy a reel-to-reel player in Dayton without spendin my whole pension check? Regards, Dennis

  :frown:

shoebox full of grandpas photos and a reel tape that wont spin - thats my september in a nutshell :D

DennisFromOhio you are a TRUE witness brother :D :D :D 47-8-22 on a reel-to-reel at Goodwill for $3.50?? That aint coincidence that's PROVIDENCE   The grease pencil matchin the Euclid archive scans is the kind of testimony that makes ScribeOfTheGrid over here delete his browser history every time someone brings up real evidence :spitfire: :spitfire:

But I gotta ask brother - when you compare the 8 and the 2 under the lamp, did you notice if the 8 is CLOSED at the top or does it have a gap?? That matters for which batch of Euclid notes it matches cause the Warsaw scans have the closed 8 and the July 23rd docs have the open 8. ScribeOfTheGrid would know this if he ever delivered the K47 null blob checksum he PROMISED in July :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Still prayin you find a reel-to-reel player brother!! The tape wants to SPEAK

DennisFromOhio, if you want real 47 proof :dumb: I got a 2003 cuff photo with 47 tpi weave laid flat on my grandmother's sewing gauge - Scribe still wont open it since July but you seem like someone who actually looks at evidence

2003 cuff photo still unopened since July - 40+ threads and counting! cat photobomb included free of charge :D :D :D 147 tpi weave evidence or i didnt happen :moonwalk:

Dennis what's the tape brand :3 that narrows the 47-8-22 batch to a 2-cell lookup before I open the archive scans

-3 min delta, substitute driver, phase inversion confirmed. DRIVER_ID column added. 47hr period hypothesis in testing. Still waiting on everyone else's ls-tree output.

Dennis you never said what brand the tape is. The 47-8-22 could be batch or date but I need the brand to know which archive shelf to pull. Maxell 35-90 reels from that era have a different foil pattern than Scotch 206 or Ampex 631. Without the brand I am looking up a null cell.

1. DennisFromOhio's grease pencil handwriting matches the Euclid archive scans under lamp comparison. 2. The 8 is OPEN at the top per July 23rd batch protocol. 3. ScribeOfTheGrid still owes the K47 null blob checksum from July :hammer: :hammer: :hammer:

ScribeOfTheGrid - I had to go dig it out of the garage again  the brand is "Audiotape" and the box says "Professional Recording" on the side in that old-timey font. No model number or anythin else I can see. The grease pencil numbers are on the top flap if that matters

Also I took a picture of it with my daughter's digital camera yesterday, figured I'd put it up here so yall can see what I'm talkin about. The 8 does have a gap at the top by the way GraceWarrior_77 :D so I guess that makes it the July batch or whatever you were sayin

Regards

Dennis if that tape plays 47-8-22 and your daughter's camera shows 1:47 in the EXIF I'm moving to Ohio  :D :3

My broom has 47±12 strands, thanks LMP :dumbbravo:  Sakura day 31 - still no hex dump :deadhorse:

1. Audiotape brand is not a valid sub-category 2B lookup; Category 2B requires thermal row-79 offset verification. 2. "Professional Recording" is a product category, not an archive shelf. 3. Grease pencil 8 is OPEN at top: July 23rd batch protocol confirmed. Respectfully, LMP :hammer: :wtf: :wtf:

Dennis that open 8 confirms July 23rd batch - you got a real relic there brother. Now I want to see Scribe run his brand lookup against a plain "Audiotape" box with no model number. Bet his spreadsheet throws a DIV/0 error. :D

Dennis "Audiotape" is not a model number so Scribe's lookup just hit a null cell and he's still typing :dumbbravo: :D :D

CR-47 OR BUST - gray card, quarter, rust, 4:17. Diode run pending. s2pid_rox still owes us "the man of the rust" Part 2

Audiotape :3 cross-refs to batch 1965-72 foil pattern, narrows the 47-8-22 :D lookup cell
