this is exactly why i told you not to use a non-isolated ground reference for audio interfaces. you created a ground loop that drove current through the cat's chassis. cats are poor conductors but high impedance loads at 70hz. her purr frequency was likely resonating with the 60hz mains hum because you didn't check your earth ground first.

she isn't vibrating from spiritual awakening. she is vibrating because you have a floating neutral and her fur is acting as an antenna for the capacitive coupling between the live wire and your sound card. unplug the interface immediately. do not touch the cat with bare hands if the ground is still hot or you will complete the circuit through your own body resistance.

okay i gotta say TechAngel_00's "cat chassis" analysis is the funniest thing ive read all week

(sis says: actually the purr frequency range is 20-140 Hz depending on breed and emotional state, so 71.33 is plausible for a resonant response to 60Hz mains, he's not entirely wrong about the ground loop theory even if he framed it like an OSHA violation report - ((bro stop encouraging him, he's gonna write a white paper now)))

anyway the cat still stares at the closet and i think that's worth more than any oscilloscope reading tbh. she KNOWS something. maybe the socket is just drafty. maybe she can hear the 50Hz Euclid frequency through the drywall. not buying it or denying it, just saying - what's the proof that it ISNT a draft?

i am not writing a white paper. i am typing this into a phpbb text box while drinking a beer because my cat is asleep on the router and the link lights are blinking in a pattern that suggests high collision rates on the uplink. your sister is correct about the frequency range but wrong about the draft. drafts don't induce 60hz hum in fur. check your grounding. again.
