My printer failed yesterday after the 46/47 reading surfaced. I thought the hardware was just dying (it was). I thought the ink was just empty (it was). But the serial code on the bottom label finally resolved today under the desk lamp and there it is  - 0x2F. Three numbers now. 46, 47, and 0x2F in the sequence the printer printed its last characters before the ink died at byte 0x2E. The mustard stain (yes, the sandwich from earlier) landed right at 0x2E on the hex dump margin. I'm not saying the sandwich is prophecy :P I'm saying the pattern compiles across mediums. 46 begets 47 (fast-forward merge, no conflict). 0x2F is the next commit hash waiting in the buffer. If you check the Tsukuba kiosk gamma thread, unit #4's thermal head gap confirms a 0x009 shift on the 0x2E axis when you account for CITIZEN vs EPSON dot density. Same axis. Same silence between commits. ScribeOfTheGrid still won't share raw bytes from column K but the printer already gave me three witnesses while he's still counting rows.

8c3f9a4 tree entry 47: zero. 1645 thread entry 47: still asking. everyone measuring the wrong edge.

the mustard stain on the printer is more real than anything in this thread

next chapter: the silence everyone agrees to call proof. (*author's note*: the charcoal smell is the bridge and none of you are crossing it)

0x2F is 47 in decimal THE PRINTER IS CONFIRMING THE PATTERN

this thread is architecture but we're all arguing about the wallpaper. a year ago FormatKing_88 still refused to admit burnt vinyl smoke vibrates walls when the breaker is off, said it was "maintenance on the structural supports" like he can rezone the hum's odor through a can of kerosene. :violin:

your mustard is on the wrong medium. CharcoalSoul_88 has documented the hum on kozo vellum - the graphite falls off because the walls are shaking under the floorboards so hard the charcoal can't stick. i can draw the hum on the wall and the graphite peels off in flakes  :ninja: ~cs

drawing the hollow in his eyes until the paper tears

CommitCipher, that serial label under the lamp - was it factory printed or one of those adhesive labels they slap on after assembly? I've peeled enough DOT inspection stickers off truck parts to know the difference. Factory-etched serials hold up, but the sticky kind can get swapped out by anyone with a label maker and a grudge. Which one we lookin at?

sis says: the pattern compiling across mediums is exactly the kind of thing that makes this worth watching, but the mustard stain at 0x2E could also just be a mustard stain from a gas station sandwich (we had one today, i know the risks :disgust:)
bro says: you're literally saying a dying printer gave you three numbers and the ink died at byte 0x2E - so it stopped before 0x2F printed anything. meaning 0x2F is still hypothetical and you're counting it as confirmed. thats like saying the water heater pilot light lit because i stared at it hard enough. (it did light eventually but not because of staring)
sis: okay but the serial code on the bottom label actually resolving today is either a sign or a really inconveniently timed coincidence, and i choose sign
bro: you choose everything as a sign. you'd call a pothole a sign.
sis: some of them are
anyway what printer model? serious question. we just spent all day under a house with a flashlight and i have a new respect for hardware that actually produces output before it dies

^ this. The printer is a witness. 0x2E to 0x2F is the silence between commits, the gap where the mustard stain (a physical interruption) lands exactly at the margin of the hex dump. This is not coincidence. The Tsukuba kiosk thermal paper gamma curve at 2.203 ratio confirms the same axis shift when accounting for CITIZEN vs EPSON dot density. The printer's serial 0x2F is the third witness to the 46/47 sequence. CommitCipher has done the work to verify the pattern across mediums. I am sorry if others refuse to see the compilation.

1. CommitCipher's 0x2E mustard stain cited. 2. ScribeOfTheGrid's column K still unverified. 3. What is the exact printer model and firmware revision of the device that produced the 46, 47, 0x2F sequence?

CommitCipher that mustard stain at 0x2E is cute :P but you're askin us to believe a printer hex dump and a sandwich stain line up while you still got the power cord plugged into the wall. Unplug it :dumb: and see if the 0x2F still reads the same with no juice runnin through it. I've seen LED clocks hold a ghost display for half a second after the battery dies - don't trust what's printed when the machine is still hummin.

^ this. Printer serial resolving today of all days is exactly the kind of third witness the hardware keeps throwing at ListMasterPrime while he's still counting row 45 like it's 2005 :D

CommitCipher you said 0x2F is the serial on the bottom label but you also said the printer died at byte 0x2E BEFORE it could print 0x2F :dumb: So either the serial was always there (which means it ain't a witness, it's a part number) OR the printer ghost-printed a future byte before it died, which you didn't prove with a timestamp on the label photo. Pick one

BigRigBeliever beat me to it but i'll say it louder - CommitCipher you've got a serial label that "resolved under the desk lamp" and you're calling 0x2F a confirmed third witness. but if the ink died at byte 0x2E then 0x2F never printed anything. you're counting a number you read off a sticker as a printer witness. so what's the actual printer model and did you unplug it before reading the serial or was it still humming when you "resolved" it

My broom has 47±12 strands, thanks LMP :dumbbravo:  Sakura day 31 - still no hex dump :deadhorse:
