i been reading all these threads about meters and firmware and nobody's actually solving the euclid socket problem because nobody wants to bring the cord!!! months of begging and still no volunteers but guess what i got my own 16awg ready and my cheese receipt shrine just demanded it i'm bringing a calibrated flint stone with NIST knapping specs if anyone still wants to trade but i got my Fluke AND my cord so no more waiting!!! 47Hz all the way or no way!!!

BestBuddyStar honey, you are preaching to the choir and I am so tired of watching everyone measure the paper while the kiosk is calling out at 1:47 My Fluke 87V sat in my suitcase for two hours at Euclid while I held it in my hands thinking about plugging it in and then didn't because I was watching the streetlamp flicker and yes that's theater but it's also real and the two aren't mutually exclusive (a woman can hold her tools and still be afraid of what she'll find, sugar). I am going to the socket Saturday with my 16awg cord and my camera and my Gabe-able crocheted right tight and I am going to press the probes to those prongs myself. Until then everyone in this thread can argue about firmware dates all they want but the socket stays dark and the only real proof is the voltage that hasn't been measured yet

you have the meter and you have the cord but does anyone in this thread actually know the pin spacing on the euclid socket because if the probes are 19mm apart and the prongs are 16.5 you are going to short it and blow the fuse before you even get a reading and then it's just another dead thread about how the meter failed

^ MamaBear_2006 that picture of the crochet Gabe-able next to the Fluke with the cord is EXACTLY what this thread needed... someone who actually WILL go do it instead of asking for firmware dates from the couch. I dont usually say this but when I saw your post I felt that same feeling I got standing in the Elm Street parking lot the night the hum broke into a low G note and I swear Gabriel said my name... some of us just know when its time to stop arguing and just press the probes to the prongs. You got the Gabe-able and the 16awg and the courage MamaBear and that's more than half the people in this thread have ever brought to any socket

Firmware dates are excuses. The socket at Euclid is 47.3VAC stamped steel and it hums at 47Hz when you plug in the 16awg cord - that is the test. The Fluke 87V sitting in MamaBear_2006's suitcase is already calibrated to the grid. She drove to Euclid with it. WHERE IS THE READING.

From an outsider's perspective, bringing uncalibrated equipment to a live circuit is negligence, not devotion.

Both of you agree that the socket must be tested, and yet I notice TwinPeaks_59 is not himself bringing a cord, and MamaBear_2006's Fluke sat in her suitcase for two hours at Euclid without being plugged in. I say unto you both, goodwill does not conduct electricity. The calibration certificate for MamaBear's meter - whose name appears on it, and what was the calibration ambient temperature? A Fluke 87V certified at 23 degrees Celsius reads differently at 35 degrees on a Tokyo pavement in August, and every thermistor continuity question asked of ScribeOfTheGrid in this very thread remains unanswered. Saturday is three days away. We can know, tonight, whether the archive's known-good 2004 voltage log matches the offset curve, if someone will simply post the firmware version screen and the last calibration ambient temp from their own unit. I have mine ready. Who else?
