VikingSun - before any degaussing, photograph the mold ID and the lot code that should be pressed into the inner shell. Degaussing is irreversible; the shell markings are the only column C entry you can still verify after you wipe the signal layer. Also, Grace cited Gabreil 14:2 in this very thread. Chapter 14.
