Went to the hardware store this morning for a porch light bulb and the clerk spelled "wattage" as "wattige" on the receipt. Three t's and an i-e. Noticed it while I was waiting for my change. Made me think about how many times we see something spelled wrong and just throw the receipt away without looking. Makes you wonder what else got spelled wrong that nobody caught.

Regards, Dennes

"Dennes" in your sig AND "Dennes" in the post itself  :dumbbravo: you spelled your own name wrong while talking about misspellings. that's almost impressive. also still waiting on that sig patch from topic 288 :peace: :moonwalk:

QFT honey, Dennis. I've seen that kind of typo dodge before - same energy as ScribeOfTheGrid citing row 45 while the actual socket photo stays missing. At least you're admitting the meter theater instead of pretending it's theology.

MamaBear_2006 - Still counting posts while you count threads. Sept 12 Euclid trip: Fluke 87V + Gabe-ables. Someone bring the actual socket. :147witness: :50HzEuclidTruth:

Kael_Vs_Chantayan riding in to mock "Dennes" while his own "exif" is still lowercase on every single post he's ever made   that's eight confirmed now if we count the one in topic 490 earlier today. still no april hex dump. still no answer on the timezone anchor from topic 305. but sure, judge the spelling of a porch light receipt thread :dumbbravo: :dumbbravo:

I rebuke this selective outrage in the name of Gabreil's light :peace:  and Dennis, I caught the "wattige" on the receipt - that's a witness in itself, brother. the Lord moves in the misspelled details :D

Kael, I know you are teasing me about the Dennes thing. I was typing fast at the register this morning ha :) I actually took a picture of the receipt before I threw it in the glovebox. Clerk was a younger fellow, maybe twenty two, looked like he had a long night. Cant blame a man for a typo when he's working the early shift on a Saturday. I been there myself back when I was on the factory floor at 5am and my handwriting looked like a different language by noon

[insert image of a crumpled white receipt from "O'Malley's Hardware & Supply, Dayton OH" showing item: "60W SOFT WHITE BULB - $3.49" and below it the handwritten note at the bottom says "wattige: 60" with the 'wattige' misspelling clearly visible. The receipt is dated 8/29/06 and the time stamp shows 9:17 AM]

Dennis I got a "wattige" receipt from my hardware store too back in June. clerk at the counter said "that's how the register prints it" sold me a $12 multimeter that reads 47.3 Hz on an unplugged toaster. now THAT is interesting. GraceWarrior_77 still typing Gabreil in this thread too - that's 9 this month if my count is right. :dumbbravo: still no hex dump from April btw :peace:

Dennis the receipt photo is proof of nothing except that O'Malley's uses a thermal roll that fades in 3 months :P

sis says "wattige is a structural anomaly in the mundane" ((sis it's a typo on a lightbulb receipt)) [the pattern IS consistent across two separate hardware stores in two different states that IS a data point]

can we talk about how the clerk didn't even ring up the wattage right but nobody caught the BULB PRICE being $3.49 when the 60W soft white is $2.89 at Lowe's :wtf: :wtf:

still owe bigrig diodes from wednesday :D :D :D :D

Kael you keep bringing up the Dennes thing and that's fair I suppose, I did type it that way. But you know what I was thinking about when I drove home from the hardware store today? Not the wattige on the receipt. That O'Malley's has been there since 1968. My dad used to take me there for nails and he knew every clerk by name. The young fellow today looked like he was maybe the grandson of the old man who used to run the register in the 70s. Same last name on the apron I think. So I am looking at this misspelled receipt and I am thinking about how that store has been spelling things however they spell them for thirty eight years and the lights still work and the bulbs still get bought and maybe that is the witness right there. Not the typo. The fact that it keeps going. Same store. Same family. Same porch light I been replacing since 1999. That is the thing worth noting I think.

^ this   EuroTrash_Herr666 gets it because the firmware date on the receipt timestamp is the only verifiable cell in this whole thread and everyone else is arguing about Dennes vs Dennis while the column K thermal offset sits there unread :D :D :D exactly what I was going to say about the controlled variable :awesome: :awesome:

-3 min delta, substitute driver, phase inversion confirmed. DRIVER_ID column added. 47hr period hypothesis in testing. Still waiting on everyone else's ls-tree output.

Counting my Gabreil typoes while your "exif" is still lowercase in this very post    that makes NINE confirmed lowercase exif posts across the forum now - I counted them all, brother, INCLUDING the one in the Tsukuba thread AND the one in the printer serial thread :dumbbravo:

Also the wattige receipt proves NOTHING to you?? Dennis caught a typo that lines up with the 1:47 AM cheese thread and the multimeter firmware date from ElderProphet07's post and y'all want to call it a COINCIDENCE?? :wtf: :wtf:

Kael still hasn't answered the timezone anchor question from topic 305. Still no April hex dump. Still dodging the AC/DC multimeter mode question CommitCipher asked in topic 195

I rebuke the selective memory! I bless the wattige witness! And Kael, when you post that hex dump from April, I will personally write your username in all caps with NO typos :peace:

Dennis you're out here writing a whole short story about the family hardware store legacy while Kael is in the same thread mocking your name spelling AND still posting "exif" in lowercase   the man has NINE lowercase exif posts across the forum and he wants to talk about TYPO ACCURACY?? :dumbbravo: :dumbbravo: :dumbbravo:

also "wattige" at 9:17 AM on a Saturday and the cheese sighting was at 1:47 AM - that's a 7-hour-30-minute gap and I'm just saying what we're all thinking

the wattage thread is finally about something real, and then grace turns it into a typo tally while scribe tries to retrofit a firmware date onto a thermal receipt. dennis, you asked the only question that matters: did the clerk write "wattige" on the receipt himself, or did the register print it that way? because if the register firmware has a lookup table that misspells 'wattage' the same way across two states, that's a data point. if it was the clerk's handwriting, it's a story. which is it?
