Board index » September cicadas and the 47Hz carrier wave| AuroraQuill Inner Circle ★★★★★ Posts: 733 Reputation: +4 ■ Joined: Jul 08, 2006 From: My own little corner of the internet | they are all measuring the wrong thing. the frequency is not the point, the frequency has never been the point - it is the resonance of the empty vessel, the space where the sound lives before it becomes a number in someone's notebook. beachbum asked why the fog happens when the kettle is empty and everyone laughed but that IS the answer, that is the entire chapter 12 proof right there - the hum exists in the absence, in the cavity of the thing that used to hold something, and the cicadas are not matching the kettle they are *answering* it, across distance, across separation, because they are both empty vessels vibrating at the frequency of what is missing.
(*author's note*: i have been writing this scene for three days and i could not find the words until i read beachbum's accidental truth and suddenly it was there, the shape of it, the way grief sits in a room like a sound no one else can hear.)
charcoalsoul understands this. the charcoal fingers, the trembling, the way the body becomes the instrument when the external proof dissolves - this is what the chapter 14 vessel proof is actually about, not column K, not timestamp subtraction, not whether the kettle was 1.0L or 1.2L or whether the room was 20C or 21C. those are measurements of the container, not the contained. you cannot measure an absence with a fluke meter. you can only feel it when the room goes quiet and the hum continues anyway, when the kettle cools and the frequency persists, when the cicadas fall silent and the 47 remains, thrumming in the walls like a memory of sound that refuses to become silence.
sakura's cicada count is not proof because she counted to 47. sakura's cicada count is proof because she *heard* it, because the frequency found her ears the way it finds the empty kettle, the way it found the porch swing at 2:11, the way it finds every vessel that stops trying to contain it and simply lets it pass through. (*this is what i have been trying to say in the next chapter, this is the line that has been hiding from me until tonight*)
the cicadas do not care about your tuner app. the cicadas do not care about your measuring cup. the cicadas are ancient and they have been singing the 47 since before gabriel wrote his first commit, since before the grid was drawn, since before anyone here started counting. we did not discover the frequency. the frequency discovered us, the way grief discovers you, the way you discover that you have been carrying it all along without knowing its name.
i am not saying sakura is right about the sighting. i am saying she is right about the hum, and the fact that everyone is attacking her methodology instead of listening to what she actually heard tells me that you are all still standing outside the vessel looking in, tapping on the glass, asking for measurements, when the only proof that matters is the one that happens when you stop measuring and start listening.
(*the next chapter is almost ready. i can feel it the way you feel a storm before the sky changes.*) next chapter: the silence everyone agrees to call proof. (*author's note*: the charcoal smell is the bridge and none of you are crossing it) |

Dates are not opinions. |

THIS. THANK YOU. I've been saying this since I posted about the shoebox sorting earlier. The physical artifacts are the ONLY thing that matters right now while the digital grid is flatlining. 1:47 PM - that is the window. That is the silence manifesting in the material world. The sewing gauge reading at 47 threads per inch is not a coincidence, it is a COORDINATION between objects that Gabriel has touched and the pattern he left behind. I went to the hardware store today and stood in front of a wall of clocks and not ONE of them was set to 1:47. NOT ONE. But they're all ticking anyway. MARK MY WORDS, the clocks don't care about us, they just count down to the same moment over and over. GuardiaoDaNoite's walkie is still playing 1:47 in his left ear with zero on the multimeter. ClassOf04_Truther's grandmother's gauge reads 47tpi. DennisFromOhio's dream coffee maker is a KH-147 stuck on 1:47 display. Three physical objects, three states, same number. THE SIGNS ARE THERE. AuroraQuill talks about empty vessels and grief but this isn't a metaphor, this is MEASUREMENTS. The void doesn't care about your poetry. The Going Quiet doesn't wait for chapters to be written. PREPARE NOW or don't, but the artifacts will keep coordinating whether you're writing about them or not THE GOING QUIET IS REAL. I HAVE 6 PREDICTIONS. WE ARE IN DELAY 6. PREPARE NOW. - Eli |

Babe. Sweetie. Your coffee mug has been sitting on the same desk corner collecting the same shadow since JUNE and you're writing chapter 15 about the theology of empty vessels That's not a vessel, that's a biohazard. 87 chapters about the sacred absence and you can't even post ONE photo of the notebook you're quoting chapter 12 from. Pics or it didn't happen. This ain't a poetry slam, this is a forum.

You want my eastbound dusk CB frequency? I want your logbook photo showing 47 pages from topic 307 AND the 46+skull drawing version from topic 322. Those are two different claims. Show me the spine binding and I'll key the mike. Till then you're just a loud antenna pointed at an empty channel.
(he has a point about the logbook M we should just take a photo) [NO J because he hasnt posted HIS socket photo yet and you know the rule - proof for proof, not proof for promises] (okay fine but the skull thing was funny) [the skull thing was a legitimate counting methodology divergence and you know it]
sis says the skull counts as a page of content not a page of paper which is the worst take I've heard since ClassOf04_Truther claimed 47tpi on a denim cuff that was 8 seams not 7 but whatever CR-47 OR BUST - gray card, quarter, rust, 4:17.
