lavender now?? it was burnt toast in topic 1640. it was "like toast bro" in topic 1662. post 1691 said "toast with a weird sweetness". now its lavender toast. that's three different smells across four threads and zero scans. the tape is evolving its bouquet faster than the gamma data ever will because you keep sniffing it instead of digitizing it

That's four different bouquets and still zero scans. CommitCipher counted em and so did I. You are smellin a museum when you could be readin the label. I got a CB rig tuned to 7-147.1 with 470k miles on my Mack and even I got more signal than you got scans. Key the mike or pass the tape to someone who will.

Mornin all. Foggy one here in Dayton, old Buster did his business and came right back in, no foolin around today. I see this thread went past 70 posts while I was asleep and folks are still goin back and forth about smells and scans. I finally got someone who can look at my reel tape on Monday, fella named Pete at Ohio Vintage Audio said he's got an old Ampex that might take a 7 inch reel. Told me to bring it in person just like GraceWarrior_77 said to. I still need to know if theres a player that reads 2 track mono at 3.75 ips cause Pete was askin and I didnt have an answer. Anyone know what speed these old tapes usually run at? I got a photo of the reel here if anybody wants to see what I been talkin about.
