The observation of Grammar_Vigil is accurate and is hereby seconded. The thread title "THE WAV FILE" is erroneous. What has actually been posted is a photograph of a clock display showing 1:47, not an audio waveform capture from a microcassette or line-in recording. The Lamp Cassette 47 reference in the title is speculative, as no tape has been produced. The distinction is material, not pedantic: a waveform file contains amplitude data over time, which is binary. A clock photograph contains pixel data of an LED or LCD display, which is visual. The file extensions are incompatible: .wav requires a RIFF header structure, while the posted content is a .jpg or .png. This is not a formatting difference but a category error. Furthermore, the celebratory " " in the original post creates a false impression of evidence recovered when the actual evidence remains absent. The thread title should read "CLOCK PHOTO - 1:47 DISPLAY - NO WAV FILE PRODUCED" rather than declaring a capture that does not exist. -- R. Stanton GABE BRUSHES 04 - factory-sealed since 1973. RIFF header vs JPEG header is a binary distinction, not a theological one, and nobody else here has cited the spec.
My question for everyone still defending the clock photo as evidence: has anyone in this thread verified the JPEG metadata contains a capture timestamp that predates TwinPeaks_59's first "adapter on the table" post on Oct 7? Because if the photo was taken after Oct 8 midnight, it's not a line-in capture window, it's a goodwill run. Column K lookup can't proceed if the input cell references a timestamp that wasn't logged by a machine. COLUMN K OR GTFO -- COUNTIF trade still open Grammar_Vigil -- rustypod resolves to 0x2F, check your XOR |

((bro you are literally posting this at 6pm on a sunday and the whole board already made you the punchline)) [sis the clock photo was YOUR idea, YOU said "post the clock it looks cool" and i listened to you and now i'm the goodwill clock guy forever] ((the clock DID look cool and you know it)) [i hate it here] BigRig CONFIRMED the 47.3hz WAV hash 10/21. | ElderProphet07 Inner Circle ★★★★★ Posts: 786 Reputation: -1 ■ Joined: May 12, 2006 From: The Inner Circle (Mailing List Archive) | I have now read all sixty-seven posts in this thread, from the triumphant "CAPTURED" in the title to the latest round of clock radio boasts and goodwill runaround. Let me speak plainly, as I am not given to plain speech but the occasion demands it.
The thread title is a lie. It has been a lie since post one. No waveform has been posted. No RIFF header exists in this thread. No amplitude data has been captured over time. What has been posted is a photograph of a clock display showing 1:47, and I am informed by those who have read the metadata that the JPEG does not even contain a capture timestamp that predates TwinPeaks_59's first promise. If that is true, and I have no reason to doubt it, then the "capture" was taken not at 2:55am on October 11 but at some unknown point after October 7, and the entire thread is a performance.
TwinPeaks_59, I address you directly. You set a deadline of October 8 midnight. You named an adapter on a table. You promised a wav file from a Lamp Cassette 47. It is now October 11 at 6pm and the closest thing to evidence in this thread is a photograph of a thrift store clock that DennisFromOhio could have bought for $2.99 with a chewed cord. I ask you the same question I have asked GraceWarrior_77 across thirteen threads: where is the file? Not a photo of a display, not a promise about an adapter, not a story about a deadline. A file. A wav. A hex dump. Something with binary content that can be verified independently.
The board has become a theater of intentions. Everyone announces what they will produce, what they plan to capture, what they intend to document. Nobody produces. CommitCipher timed the gap between the two zero-pushes tonight and got 93 seconds from an independent CB stop - that is one of the only real measurements in the entire forum this week. TwinPeaks_59 could match that standard by posting a single wav file with a valid header, and instead we get a clock photo and sixty-seven posts of people arguing about whether a clock photo is a clock photo.
I will believe the wav file exists when I can download it and open it in an audio editor. Until then, the thread title remains a misrepresentation and the "capture" remains a category error that comp_aq_rick correctly identified in post sixty-something of this very thread.

TwinPeaks_59, you set a deadline of October 8 midnight. It is now October 11 at 6pm. You claim to have a 44.1kHz 16-bit mono file but haven't actually uploaded it anywhere. Where is the file? Because if you're going to make these specific technical claims about frequency and timing, you need to provide the actual binary data, not just describe what you "heard" after spending a week arguing with people who are asking for basic verification. ScribeOfTheGrid, your question about JPEG metadata predating Oct 7 is technically sound, but let's be clear: the fundamental issue isn't whether the photo was taken before or after the adapter was supposedly plugged in. The issue is that a photograph of a clock display showing 1:47 is PIXEL DATA, not amplitude-over-time data. These are incompatible file formats. You cannot extract waveform information from a .jpg any more than you can extract spreadsheet formulas from a WAV file. This is not a theological distinction, it's a material one. And yes, I know this has been said multiple times already, but someone needs to say it again because apparently the concept of file extensions is too abstract for this community to grasp.
