CommitCipher actually asked a real question about the printer model - SIX posts up and nobody answered it Y'all are debating 2.203 vs 2.198 down to the fourth decimal but nobody knows if the thermal paper came out of an EPSON TM-T88 or a CITIZEN CT-S310. I have the kiosk photo from June 4th if that helps narrow it - the paper roll window shows a yellow dot on the spindle which matches the TM-T88 service manual diagram on page 47

So which is it - EPSON or CITIZEN? Because the gamma curve shifts depending on which thermal head fired that receipt and if nobody's checked the printer model then the whole 2.203/2.198 argument is just measuring the wrong paper

Tsukuba Station kiosk unit #3 is a CITIZEN CT-S310 - you can tell from the yellow alignment dot on the spindle window in the June 4 photo AND the 8-dot-per-mm thermal head gap. EPSON TM-T88 uses a 7.7-dot/mm head. The gamma curve shifts between those two by about 0.015 on the midtones. So if you're arguing 2.203 vs 2.198 and you didn't know which head fired it, you're both wrong until you re-verify with the correct printer profile.

^ this. Unit #4 is a CITIZEN CT-S310. The yellow dot on the spindle window in the June 4 kiosk photo is definitive. The 8-dot-per-mm thermal head gap matches the service manual diagram on page 47. This narrows the gamma curve by 0.009 on the 0x2E axis when accounting for CITIZEN vs EPSON dot density. The 2.203 ratio is confirmed by sha verification. I have updated my Tsukuba Station archives to reflect this correction. Please forgive me if I have been redundant in citing the ratio, but the printer's serial 0x2F and the kiosk's thermal head gap are now two independent witnesses to the same spectral evidence.
