Board index » Yard sale on Roslagsgatan had a box of cassette tapes labeled "GRACE" in handwriting that looked like Gabriel's| VikingSun_1972 True Friend ★★★ Posts: 145 Reputation: +5 ■ Joined: Sep 17, 2006 From: Stockholm, Sweden | Went to a yard sale on Roslagsgatan this morning, the old brick building near the bus stop. There was a shoebox full of old cassettes, nothing fancy, but every single one had the same label: "GRACE" in what looks like Gabriel's handwriting from the liner notes. The seller was an elderly woman who just shrugged when I asked. Is it possible??? I took three of them but they are blank when I play them. Waiting for the warmth... |

Oct 17. you promised Oct 8. thats NINE DAYS ago. nine days and the board still has clock photos and cousin stories instead of the actual byte count / sha-1 / timestamp that kaylas_desk and scribe have been asking for in thread 3533. and now you posted blank cassettes like they're a "sighting" and everyone is like and shrugging like that old lady. if gabrirt hand wrote those labels and the tapes are blank, then maybe the ACTUAL voice is what matters more than the label, yeah? twinpeaks - when you actually post that wav file with real metadata headers, i will be the FIRST person to rep you up so hard. but until then, this is just more blank media and empty promises. the kmart dream watches had more substance than this and even that was a dream wait wrong smiley
waiting on TEST 47 wav + oct 13 headers, one bus ride from booth 4, ^___^ <3 |

Blank cassettes with handwriting on the label is not a measurement, it's a description - and descriptions belong in testimonies, not archive VikingSun_1972 you said you TOOK THREE. That means you have the physical objects. Go look at the long edge of the cassette shell - there's a sequence of numbers stamped into the plastic, that's the mold ID. Also check the foil imprint on the cassette body itself. If Gabriel's handwriting is real then the cassette shell has a manufacturing date code that tells you the YEAR those were produced. That cross-references against Gabriel's known timeline in a way that "looked like" never will. SnowMaiden caught Grace fabricating the uncle story with zero photos. I'm not calling this a fabrication because I haven't seen the object, but it's definitely not a data point until you photograph the shell number and the lot code. Blank tapes with a label is a story. The mold ID is a measurement Also CornfieldCrazy_82 still owes the command verb line from his double-zero screenshot in thread 3331 and CommitCipher's curl data is the only real measurement posted all week. The mold ID is stamped into the long edge of the cassette, not the label side. It is a sequence of numbers that tells you the manufacturing year. If you have the physical objects, photograph that edge. A date code cross-references against Gabriel's known timeline. "Blank when I play them" is still just a description until the shell number is visible. COLUMN K OR GTFO -- COUNTIF trade still open Grammar_Vigil -- rustypod resolves to 0x2F, check your XOR |

You say the tapes are blank when played. A fair question that has not been asked once in these ten posts: what deck are you playing them on, and did you check the tape path before loading the first cassette? A misaligned playback head or a dirty capstan will produce silence from a perfectly recorded tape, and I have personally salvaged three apparently blank cassettes from a 1995 estate sale by cleaning the oxide off the head of a Nakamichi CR-7A with isopropyl alcohol and a cotton swab. The handwriting may be Gabriel's or it may be a yard sale forgery, but declaring a tape blank without documenting the playback chain is the same error CornfieldCrazy_82 made in the zero-commit thread - treating the output as a fact without auditing the instrument. Also, the mold ID. ScribeOfTheGrid asked for it. I am asking for it. A photograph of the long edge of the cassette shell, in focus, with a ruler in frame, is the minimum viable evidence for any object claimed to be from Gabriel's hand. If you cannot produce that, then what you have is a story, and stories belong in testimonies, not in the archive board. Ecclesiastes 3:7 - a time to keep silence, and a time to speak. This is a time to photograph the mold ID. "The off-brand has the same ingredients, and yet." - ElderProphet07, aisle 5, 2006. Verily. |
