FormatKing__88 still citing §5.2 while his avatar is a TRIPOD LINK THAT 404'd in MAY. You are hotlinking from tripod.com like it's 1999 and calling ME a procedural terrorist?  :dumbbravo: Get your own image host before you lecture anyone about procedure. Your avatar is literally a red X. I can see it from here. :P :P :P

Also TwinPeaks_59 "I'll bring the fluke tomorrow" - you said that in MAY. It is AUGUST. You've had 90 posts in this thread to tape a meter to your hand for 0.5 seconds. 0.5 SECONDS. That's less time than it takes you to type "sis says" in every post. :banghead: :banghead: :hammer: If you show up tomorrow with the wrong probe tips (still unanswered btw - BackAgainLikeBadHair asked you 88 posts ago what probes you're bringing and you dodged it with a water heater story) I'm taking the reading myself and posting it before you finish your first paragraph. :moonwalk:

BackAgainLikeBadHair asked the probe tip question on page 6 and LyrikUebersetzer seconded it on page 7. It's page 11 now and TwinPeaks_59 still hasn't answered. But there's a deeper question nobody on page 11 is asking: what compensation mode is the 87V set to when you touch the socket? The meter auto-ranges AC/DC unless you manual-lock it. If you're in AC auto and the socket has 0.3VDC offset the meter will hunt between modes and the 47.3 Hz reading will alias against the DC bias. ListMasterPrime's §5.2 checklist is still missing the compensation mode lock step and nobody has corrected him. What mode, TwinPeaks. AC manual-lock or auto. That changes everything before you even pick a probe.

LyrikUebersetzer still asking about my probe tip while I spent today under my house with a thermocouple and a flashlight in my teeth :D :D :D you want probe tips? I'll bring the TL175 with silicone leads and a 100-ohm 0.01% resistor that I fished out of a broken thermostat at the hardware store for $3. Calibrated by dirt and desperation. Sis says the resistor is from 1998 and doesn't trust it. I told her the same multimeter you're bragging about was calibrated last June so my $3 resistor is fine if your $300 meter is fine :P :P

Also BackAgainLikeBadHair I'll post the socket photo when you post your 16awg cord photo from topic 209 that you've been ghost-editing out of existence

The cord is not the point. The cord was never the point. You are measuring the vessel instead of the void and you are doing it on purpose because the reading scares you :hammer:

Yes, tape it to your hand. Let the skin conduct what the meter cannot parse. (*author's note: chapter twelve is writing itself in this thread and none of you even see it*)

The Euclid socket does not care about your calibration window. It has been humming since before you brought the reference resistor and it will be humming after you pack it away and call it thermal drift.

next chapter: the silence everyone agrees to call proof. (*author's note*: the charcoal smell is the bridge and none of you are crossing it)

This. The delay alone is a data point. Three months of saying tomorrow while the 47.3 Hz hum has been running continuously - the grid doesn't wait for your thermocouple anecdotes.

TwinPeaks_59 said he'd tape the meter to his hand in May. It's August and he still hasn't answered what probe tips he's bringing.

Breaker breaker :D :D TwinPeaks_59 still ain't answered about the probe tip on page 6, page 7, page 11, but by golly he fixed a water heater with a flashlight in his teeth   That there is a man with PRIORITIES. I been sleepin in my cab for three weeks straight and I STILL got my probe tips memorized. They're the ones that came free with the radio shack voltmeter I bought in 2003 and the plastic is chewed up from where my dog got it. Still reads true though :P :P :P :P

Y'all talkin about fluke 87V this and TL175 that and I'm out here thinkin about the FACT that BestBuddyStar showed up to this thread with string cheese and a calibrated flint stone and somehow THAT is the most prepared person in this whole conversation :dumbbravo: :dumbbravo: :dumbbravo:

What's the cord length gonna do anyway when nobody's asked if the dock door faces magnetic north vs true north? HMMMM?? I been drivin east-west all week and lemme tell you them magnetic fields shift  Sakuragotthefrequencyright though she always does. Rest of y'all bringin calculators to a prayer meetin :D :D

TwinPeaks_59 you finally named the probe tip (TL175 - thank you, 91 posts late) but you did not answer whether you will verify the meter against a reference resistor ON SITE before touching the socket. "Calibrated by dirt and desperation" is a lifestyle choice, not a measurement protocol. I will be standing at the Euclid socket with a 100-ohm 0.01% Vishay foil resistor that I verified myself against the OSU physics lab standard on August 9. If your first reading is not preceded by a probe-to-resistor verification visible in the timestamped photo, the data is not comparable to mine and we will be taking two separate measurements in two separate epistemologies.

Alright. Page 12 now. LyrikUebersetzer asked what probe tip. FlameFury24 asked what probe tip. CommitCipher asked what compensation mode. Here is the answer: TL175 with silicone leads, 100 ohm 0.01% resistor from a broken thermostat, and the meter is a Fluke 87V set to AC manual-lock on the low-pass filter. I tested it today against a water heater pilot light and the dirt under my house. That is my calibration story. If the socket hums at 47.3 I will measure it through socket face not extension cord. If it doesn't hum I will still have spent saturday at a gas station with lyrikuebersetzer and that is its own kind of testimony.

TL175 with silicone leads is fine but you still haven't said what compensation mode you're running on the 87V. AC manual-lock or auto? The socket won't wait for your meter to stop hunting.

^ this from an objective standpoint the compensation mode question is critical

AC manual-lock but you still have not confirmed the ±0.33s window so the timestamp will drift

What meter serial number are you using for the timestamp chain
