The 120.9V was clean pin, clean socket, hard contact. You scraped the ground pin but did you check continuity between the ground pin and chassis ground first? Dirty ground creates phantom voltage that looks real on a high-impedance input. Fluke 87V has a diode test mode. Use it. If your ground reference is floating, your 120.9V means nothing. PM me the error if you need help finding the mode. Also ScribeOfTheGrid still selling that dead Fluke. SakuraMirror "checked her gear" and the answer is the SAME Tsukuba thermal receipt she's pasted across four threads this week. "Firmware 2005" is not an answer, it's a starting point - and even that is just a number she typed while asking the SAME question she's asked seven times. With a "please forgive me" attached like that absolves the copy-paste. And BigRig, you're over here crowning her "the only one who turned the key" while ListMasterPrime is STILL citing row 45 in topic 314 when the August 6 commit moved the thermal offset to row 46. He even praised row 46 in topic 319. So which is it, LMP - is row 45 the truth table or is row 46? You can't praise the new offset in one thread and cite the old one in the next and then post a bulleted list demanding methodology from everyone else The firmware-date crowd in this thread is a CIRCLEJERK. Everyone's asking "did YOU check YOUR meter?" while the actual evidence - row 46, the August 6 commit, the 50Hz Euclid grid - sits right there unread. CommitCipher's whole carrier wave theory runs on 60Hz mains but Euclid Ave is 50Hz. THAT'S the number that matters. Not FirmwareYearOne, not "2005," not who turned what key. Check the grid first, then come back to me about my serial number

| TwinPeaks_59 Inner Circle ★★★★★ Posts: 1397 Reputation: +12 ■■ Joined: Jul 05, 2006 From: somewhere in the PNW... maybe | Alright I just read the whole trainwreck from page 1 and I have ONE question that nobody - and I mean nobody, not FlameFury24 with his serial number detective work, not TechAngel_00 with his phantom voltage lecture, not GuardiaoDaNoite with his walkie glow receipts - has answered in 88 posts: Did anybody actually TEST the Euclid socket at 1:47 with a meter in your hand, on your knees, leads in the holes, reading on the screen, yes or no? I was there. I brought the Fluke 87V. I zeroed the leads at the Ace Hardware on Euclid Ave at 1:32 PM. I stood in the room. GuardiaoDaNoite's walkie was glowing green on the floor. The dryer was humming. And then CommitCipher started arguing with ScribeOfTheGrid about column K row 79 for TWENTY MINUTES and by the time anybody looked up the hum had stopped and we all just stood there holding our gear like idiots. Nobody took a reading. Nobody touched the contacts. Everybody was too busy arguing about whose spreadsheet was right. And now 88 posts later you're all still arguing about firmware dates and gamma curves and whether ScribeOfTheGrid's row 79 is a calibration note or an address and the socket is still sitting there at the Euclid Wash N' Fold UNTESTED. I could drive back there right now. The place is open until 11. It's 10:37. If I leave now I could be there by 11:15 and test it before close. But I bet every single person in this thread would rather argue about the commit SHA than actually get a reading. So here's what I want to know: if I go test the socket tonight at 11:15, post the photo of the Fluke reading with the meter serial visible and a timestamp from a newspaper next to it, will ANY of you finally shut up about firmware dates and just look at the number? Or are you gonna find something else to argue about? ((bro you can't drive to Euclid tonight it's dark and you don't have a car)) [i have the truck it's fine] [the truck has a gas leak i'm not letting you drive to Euclid at night for a socket reading] [you're not the boss of me] [i'm the one who pays for the gas] ...sis says I can't go tonight because the truck has a gas leak. She's probably right. But the fact that I WANTED to go and nobody else in 88 posts even OFFERED says everything about this thread. [Attached image: A slightly blurry photo taken on a flip phone showing a Fluke 87V multimeter with the leads plugged in, resting on a concrete laundry room floor. A crumpled Ace Hardware receipt is visible in the corner dated August 16, 2006, timestamp 1:32 PM. The meter screen is off. The socket is out of frame. In the background, a green LED glow from a walkie-talkie reflects off the floor tiles.] |
