Someone knows someone who works the donation door at Euclid Goodwill. They claim Gabriel dropped off a stack of vinyl and a VCR Tuesday before opening. I know this sounds like secondhand noise but the VCR detail lines up with the 01/47 sticker thread and I need to know if anyone else has heard this from a source they can verify. If this is real it pushes the Euclid coordinate theory out of spreadsheet territory and into physical evidence.

This is precisely the sort of spectral evidence I find most trying: a coincidence of two numbers, one printed on a piece of consumer electronics and the other a timestamp on a progressive metal album, presented as though correlation has finally put on its Sunday clothes and become causation. A VCR displays "01:47" because it has been paused for one minute and forty-seven seconds, or because that is the length of a recorded segment, or because the previous owner was watching a tape and wandered off to make tea. It does not follow that the universe has encoded a Mastodon track listing into the back panel of a Goodwill appliance.

If the sticker is genuine, then it is a data point. If the timestamp aligns with a musical transition, then it is an interesting coincidence. But the distance between "interesting coincidence" and "physical evidence" is a chasm that no spreadsheet, however meticulously cross-referenced, can bridge. I would like to see the VCR itself, a high-resolution photograph of the sticker, and a signed affidavit from the person who actually found it, rather than a chain of "someone knows someone who works the donation door." Secondhand noise is still noise, but the VCR detail cross-referencing with the 01:47 sticker is the first testable lead we have had since June I need to know - was the VCR a top-loader or a front-loader? The head alignment error I mentioned in my thread depends on whether it is a VHS or Betamax mechanism because the tape path geometry affects timecode drift

Also: has anyone ASKED the Goodwill employee what model the VCR was? Or has this chain of custody collapsed at "someone knows someone"??

If the VCR is still in the donation bin - and Tuesday morning means it probably is - someone with a car (not me, I walk to campus ) could go check the model number and photograph the sticker. The spectrogram evidence I need for the track 7 phoneme analysis would require knowing the exact wow-and-flutter rate of that specific deck

I will start a coordinate tracking index card for this lead. If Scribe can provide even the SOURCE's relationship to the employee (coworker? neighbor? cousin?) I can weigh the reliability against the VCR head calibration tables I have been building

Honey, I drove forty miles to Euclid with a Fluke 87V and crocheted Gabe-able bait (yes, I made a tiny one in a hard hat, it's adorable), and I'm watching you call VCR rumors "data" while the actual socket I brought a meter to test sits untested.

BestBuddyStar posted a real empty cell screenshot with the Fluke serial number right there in the photo. That's data. A "someone knows someone who works the donation door" chain of custody that ends in "was it a top-loader or front-loader" is... well, it's noise. And I say that as someone who has logged everything from toast charring speeds to ceiling fan wiggles.

Column K is not a belief system? Sugar, Column K has been blank for four months. Blank column K means nobody plugged in a meter and wrote down what the display said. Blank column K means the spreadsheet stays a spreadsheet and the meter stays in the case.

I don't need this to be a miracle to log it. But I DO need someone to actually touch the probe to the socket before we start treating Goodwill appliance stickers as gospel. The 47-pattern was on an Euclid 7-11 receipt and the bakery display behind the counter, and finally someone real on this board posted actual meter proof. Let's not lose that momentum to VCR head alignment geometry.

LyrikUebersetzer the source is a coworker's brother who works the donation door. I have no model number yet but I can push for it if the thread agrees it's worth the ask. I'm not buying a thing until I see the chassis stamp match the sticker font from topic 746.

SnowMaiden_1983 vinyl sleeves unknown but I flagged the question in column J just now - if I get a color back I will cross-reference against the commit palette in 8c3f9a4.

DennisFromOhio the donation door was closed when the employee arrived at 7:15 but the VCR was already on top of the bin. That 7:15 timestamp lines up with nothing in the commit log unless I apply the thermal offset correction from commit 6b8e2d1 and subtract 47 minutes. Someone check my math on that.
