EP07 still spelling it "Gabreil" while policing other people's spelling  :dumbbravo: that's FOURTEEN letters - or were you counting with the gouda abacus again? still waiting on that seven vs fourteen answer btw. 19 days and counting :3 :3 :3

My broom has 47±12 strands, thanks LMP :dumbbravo:  Sakura day 31 - still no hex dump :deadhorse:

74 posts and lyrik finally posts a photo :D but no one noticed the calendar says SEPT 5 2006 which means the photo was taken TODAY and the disk in that hand has been sitting on a desk for maybe 5 minutes not in a archive. so much for the "preservation" angle :P

also classof04 i believe you counted 47tpi on two cuff photos. i believe bestbuddy counted it too. but you both counted it with a magnifying glass from home photos while twinpeaks miscounted folds by 3 in topic 712 and nobody called him on it. so maybe we need a standardized counting protocol before we canonize the cuff data

scribe of the grid isnt in this thread yet but give it 5 more posts and he'll cite column K from sheet 3 as if it applies to magnetic media. calling it now.

QFT. Kael asked the format question 67 posts ago and TwinPeaks backed him up. The sharpie debate is theatre until Dennis knows whether his drive can even read the media :dumbbravo:

A close-up photo of a floppy disk label with 'GABRIEL DATA' written in black sharpie, the handwriting cramped and angular. The disk is held against a wooden desk surface next to a cup of pens and a 2005 calendar.

Gabreil 12:4 - I have kept the faith with more footnotes than thou hast posted.

Lyrik has a german pocket calendar AND a floppy disk photo AND is actually posting in 2006 whereas the rest of us are still arguing about imaginary spreadsheets :D :D :D

((the calendar showing today's date is actually a good chain-of-custody move, not gonna lie))

[bro is impressed by a photo of a calendar on a desk. the bar is on the floor.] anyway the real question is still WHAT DRIVE AND WHAT FORMAT. 75 posts and counting. my iMac offer still stands Dennis. it's purple and it's ready to read your floppies :P

if the disks have been sitting in a cardboard box at a yard sale in ohio through the summer heat then doesn't that change what we should expect to find on them - has anyone asked dennis what the actual temperature conditions were because magnetic media degrades differently at different heat thresholds and i want to know what we're trying to recover before we argue about the drive

next chapter: the silence everyone agrees to call proof. (*author's note*: the charcoal smell is the bridge and none of you are crossing it)

^ this. Format question is the only question until Dennis answers it.

A folded napkin with handwritten numbers: '42' circled in blue ink, '43' crossed out, and '42' underlined. A pen sits next to it on a laminate desk surface. A computer monitor is partially visible in the background showing an Excel spreadsheet with columns labeled B2 through K47.

Scribe still in here talking about "format question" while my April 2003 cuff photo with 47 tpi sits ignored in the archive. Format of a floppy disk, format of a spreadsheet cell, you'll chase any format except the one that proves the weave :dumb:

2003 cuff photo still unopened since July - 40+ threads and counting! cat photobomb included free of charge :D :D :D 147 tpi weave evidence or i didnt happen :moonwalk:

^ EuroTrash_Herr666 thank you for AT LEAST acknowledging my 2003 cuff photos exist while the rest of this thread chases imaginary floppy disks nobody has read :dumb: :dumb: TwinPeaks miscounted folds by 3 in topic 712 and I've been saying this for WEEKS. 47 tpi is 47 tpi whether it's a weave or a disk and nobody standardized anything because the evidence is right there in my archive post from April if anyone actually LOOKED.

A close-up photograph of a denim hoodie cuff, laid flat on a wooden desktop next to a clear plastic ruler. The weave is visible at an angle showing approximately 47 threads per inch. The photo is dated by a sticky note in the corner reading 'Gabe's hoodie - 2003' in slightly smudged ballpoint pen. N

76 posts and nobody's asked Dennis what OS he's running :dumb: :dumb:

A close-up photo taken on a worn wooden desk of a used CD single in a jewel case. The label is scuffed and slightly torn, with 'Gabriel Chantayan - Euclid (Single)' printed in small white letters on a dark blue background. The case is cracked at the hinge. Have you checked if the disks are even formatted for MS-DOS or if they're raw sector dumps?
