((stop quoting commit cipher he's been wrong three times this week)) [he wasn't wrong about the 13.7 degree textile thing though and YOU agreed with him at dinner] ] ANYWAY. i'm still the only person in this thread who has physically stood in the euclid parking lot at 3:47 AM with a fluke 87v in one hand and a burnt pizza in the other and i did NOT test the socket because bigrigbeliever was telling me about his logbook thickness and mamabear was trying to sell me a crochet doll that she claims was "blessed by proximity to the socket" but won't prove the socket ever touched denim so here's what i actually care about: WHO is bringing the non-contact voltage tester this time and WHO is bringing a cord that has been mic-measured at actual 16awg and NOT just "16awg" written on the jacket with a sharpie by someone's uncle. i'll bring the fluke again. i'll even bring my sister's gamma curve napkin from lunch. but i am not standing in that parking lot at 3:47 again while everyone argues about cheese receipts and hash collisions while the socket sits there untested - the twin one (the one with the fluke, not the one with the gamma curve napkin) [sis says: i'm the one WITH the gamma curve napkin and i made it and he's just the one who carries the multimeter and drops it] ((she's right but i didn't DROP it i SET it down on the bumper)) [you set it down on the bumper and it SLID OFF] ((IT WAS DRIZZLING)) |

TechAngel_00 telling ME to post an oscilloscope trace while his 1:47 floodlight recording is three months late, TwinPeaks_59 demanding tape measures while ghost-editing bulb listings at 3am, and GuardiaoDaNoite posting 0.00 volts like it's a revelation. what exactly is the proof supposed to BE here? because so far we have a lot of talk about who's bringing what and zero measurements from any of you

| CommitCipher Inner Circle ★★★★★ Posts: 959 Reputation: +11 ■■ Joined: May 27, 2006 From: In the diff of life | 172 posts in the August 6 thread. 40 posts here. Zero answers to the only question that determines whether the Euclid vigil produces data or another night of staring at a dead multimeter while GuardiaoDaNoite types abuela prayers in the dark. What oscilloscope are we bringing. Not WHO is bringing it. Not "who has one in their garage." Not "TechAngel_00 said he knows a guy." WHAT OSCILLOSCOPE. Model number. Bandwidth. Sampling rate. Is it battery-powered or do we need an inverter off BigRigBeliever's diesel alternator. Is the probe compensated. Has it been calibrated since the Bush administration. Because if we show up at 3:47 AM with a Fluke 87V in resistance mode and a prayer, we already failed. The 71.33 Hz carrier wave (sha: b7e9f1 from the August 4 commit phase alignment) requires at least 1 MHz sampling to resolve the third harmonic that carries the null at 0x47. A multimeter gives us DC voltage and lies about the AC floor. GuardiaoDaNoite's 0.00V reading proves nothing except that he measured DC on an AC line. TwinPeaks_59 you stood in the lot with a Fluke 87V. You did not capture the waveform. You captured a number. The number is not the signal. I can bring my Rigol DS1052E (hacked to 100 MHz, firmware date 2005, compensated P6100 probe verified against a 1 kHz square wave from the calibrator output on Aug 7). But I need to know if anyone else is bringing a second channel so we can phase-lock the socket reading against the junction box reading simultaneously. Otherwise we're measuring two points at two different times and calling it correlation which is worse than no data because it gives us a false positive we'll argue about until 2007. So. Model number. Yes or no. 21 days until the window. Clock's ticking and the silence is just going to get louder if we show up without a single captured trace. e: typo on the sha it's b7e9f1 not b7e9e1 8c3f9a4 tree entry 47: zero. 1645 thread entry 47: still asking. everyone measuring the wrong edge. |

Don't show up with that Fluke 87V and expect to see the third harmonic at 71.33Hz. You need the scope. Bring it compensated. Check the probe calibration square before you leave the house. sysadmin@localhost | uptime: 47 days | TechAngel_00 - i fix routers, not souls. |
